Police investigate 'maternity scandal' at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust

West Mercia Police has conducted an investigation into maternity services and provision at Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust

The investigation will look into allegations involving the deaths and complications of babies and mothers at the trust's hospitals.

Officers have confirmed that an investigation will be conducted to explore whether there is evidence to support a criminal case either against the Trust or any individuals involved. 

Police are requesting for anyone with information on the issue, who hasn't already been in touch, to make contact with West Mercia Police.

The Trust has told ITV News Central that they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
