Two arrested after six-year-old boy from Solihull dies in hospital

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a six-year-old boy from Solihull died in hospital.

A 27-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman are currently in custody after the boy suffered serious head injuries.

West Midlands Police were called to Cranmore Road in Shirley at around 3pm on Tuesday (16 June).

Police say the boy, who has not been named, died in the early hours of the next morning (17 June).

Officers say “a cordon remains in place at the property,” and an investigation has now been launched "to determine how the child came about his injuries.”

A post-mortem examination has yet to take place.
