Two cats found abandoned in Nottinghamshire woods

Two cats have been found abandoned in a remote wooded area in Nottinghamshire.

The two female cats, one grey and one tabby, were discovered by a member of the public on Wednesday evening, June 10.

They were spotted in a carrier in a wooded area of the Maun Valley Trail just off New Mill Lane in Mansfield Woodhouse.

A member of the public brought the two young cats home before contacting the RSPCA.

RSPCA Inspector, Michael Darling, said the pair were "very lucky they were found when they were".

The cats were both wearing fluorescent yellow collars and were found uninjured and healthy.

They were not microchipped and no owner has been found yet.

The RSPCA is appealing for more information about how these cats came to be abandoned.
