Second man arrested for allegedly selling fake coronavirus testing kits online
A second man who was wanted by the National Crime Agency for allegedly selling fake coronavirus testing kits online has been arrested.
The 36-year-old from the Edgbaston area of Birmingham was arrested for offences under the Fraud Act on 11 June having handed himself in at a police station in London. He has since been bailed.
The 38-year-old who was arrested in Birmingham on 2 June for the same offences has also been bailed.
It is alleged that counterfeit kits were sold to customers in the UK and United States on the dark web.
The NCA said officers seized small quantities of what is believed to be cocaine and heroin from one address, while suspected fake testing kits were found at a second property.
