Among the thousands of Black Lives Matter protestors to gather in Birmingham at the weekend was campaigner David Whitely, better known as Sideman.

The Radio 1Xtra host and comedian is a BLM activist. In an interview with ITV News Central, he described the racism he's experienced throughout his life. "I've been asked to leave places many, many times," he says and explains that he was asked to leave the cinema because he was with friends, despite the venue allowing a group of white males in at the same time.

Sideman says society cannot afford to stay quiet when it comes to racism and it needs to be addressed everywhere.
