Hundreds turn out for Black Lives Matter protests across the Midlands
Hundreds of people have turned out at locations across the Midlands for Black Lives Matter protests.
It's after the death of George Floyd, a black American man who died when a white police officer kneeled on his neck for over 8 minutes.
At Nottingham's Forest Recreation Ground, today's peaceful event was intended to take a stand against racism and discrimination.
City leaders and Nottinghamshire Police have been supportive of the protest, but urged people to follow social distance guidelines.
Hundreds of people also descended on Broadgate Square in Coventry.
On Saturday people gathered in Leicester to show their support for the Black Lives Matter campaign.
A silent vigil is planned in the city on Monday night in memory of George Floyd.
