Police appeal after CCTV shows car being shot at in 'targeted attack'

Police have released CCTV footage in a bid for information after shots were fired in a 'targeted attack' at a car in Birmingham.

The footage shows a white VW Transporter crashing into a grey Citroen C3 at the junction of Balsall Heath Road just after 8pm on Tuesday (May 26).

Three men are seen fleeing from the Citroen after it hits a lamppost before being chased by a gunman, who fires shots at them.

The trio were spotted running in the direction of Edward Road.

A second man in the van is seen carrying a machete - he briefly chases a fourth man towards Balsall Heath Road.

The gunman and man with the machete, both return to the van, with false plates, before being driven away.

It is believe no-one was injured as a result of the incident.

Detective want to speak to anyone involved to ensure they are safe and to assist with their enquiries.
