Residents fined after out-of-control street party

Police were forced to issue fines at a street party that got out of control in Nottingham on Friday (May 8th).

Residents in Bilborough told police they were concerned about "the large number of attendees and some people breaching social distancing rules."

A large number of people gathered on Teesbrook Drive, with a video later appearing across social media showing a DJ playing music while a woman tries to control the situation on a microphone.

Police who attended spoke to some of the people present and gave strong words of advice to those who were not social distancing.

Officers remained at the event and issued two fines to individualswho decided not to follow the advice that was given.

Parts of the group began to move on and most of the people had left by 9pm.
