Household Waste Recycling Centres are starting to reopen as lockdown restrictions are eased during the pandemic.

This was the scene earlier today (18th May) outside a recycling on Redfield Road in Nottingham, as cars formed long queues outside.

It was a scene echoed at many other recycling centres, prompting Nottinghamshire County Council to issue a warning.

People are being asked to consider whether they can delay accessing these services so that they don’t become overwhelmed. Credit: PA
