Cancer patient urges people to continue to seek medical help as cancer referrals fall during lockdown
A woman who's recovering from breast cancer is urging people who think they may have cancer symptoms to seek medical help, and to not be put off by the coronavirus lockdown.
Claire Knee discovered she had the disease a week before the lockdown measures were introduced.
But as well as the physical trauma, the 45-year-old from Beeston near Nottingham, also had the worry of going into a hospital during the coronavirus outbreak.
Her plea comes after figures show cancer referrals by GPs have fallen by two thirds since the outbreak of Covid-19.
