Man faces jail for spitting in police officer’s face

A man from Coventry is facing a significant prison term after spitting in the face of a police officer.

Temisan Oritsejafor made the assault after being arrested following disorder at a block of flats.

The spit, which contained blood, went into the response officer’s eye, but despite the understandable concerns surrounding Covid-19, she maintained her professionalism and has thankfully suffered no ill-effects.

Brave PC Annie Napier is still on active duty.
