11-year-old embarks on running challenge after being inspired by Captain Tom Moore
Captain Tom Moore's fundraising efforts to raise money for the NHS has inspired the nation and encouraged other people to do the same.
It's promoted 11-year old Ted Hardstaff from Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire, who is blind, to run a mile every day for 26 days for charity.
Ted, who has been blind since the age of 2, set himself the challenge to raise funds for Living Paintings, who provide free 'touch to see' books for visually impaired people.
Helping Ted complete his challenge is mum Natalie and dad Richard. Between them, they take it in turns to run with him using a tether on back lanes or a nearby field.
Mum Natalie admits she was a little surprised when Ted first came up with the idea and questioned whether it would be "possible to achieve".
She said: "He wanted to do it so between us we are running with him every day and he is doing a great job so far."
Ted initially set a goal to raise £2,600 but now he's approaching the £8,000 mark. So far Ted has run 6 miles with another 20 to go.
Dad Richard says he is very proud of him but he wouldn't "expect anything less".
