Birthday party held during lockdown shut down by police

A house party held during lockdown was shut down after police responded to a noise complaint.

Derby West Response Unit were called to an 18th birthday party and fined the home owner £60 and gave a penalty notice.

The force said they didn’t receive “the warmest of welcomes”, with one occupant telling them he “didn’t believe in the coronavirus”.

Current government guidelines state the population should only go outside for essential travel or for exercise in an effort to slow the spread of covid-19.
