Ambulance goes up in flames as paramedics treat patient in Staffordshire
Police are investigating after an ambulance went up in flames while paramedics were inside a house treating a patient.
The ambulance crew were called to Flash Lane in Trent Vale, Staffordshire, during the early hours of this morning (April 6).
During the call out, worried neighbours alerted the paramedics that their vehicle was on fire.
The Fire and Rescue Service arrived quickly, but the ambulance had already been destroyed.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that nobody was hurt during the fire.
She said that the Trust do not use vehicles over 5 years old, meaning that it's unlikely the fire was caused by a fault.
She added that establishing the cause of the fire is extremely important and it will be forensically investigated.
