Mayor volunteers services to the coronavirus fight
The Mayor of Sandwell, Dr Ann Jaron, is returning to the NHS as a volunteer during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr Jaron is returning to medicine after retiring from the profession in August last year - joining 20,000 former NHS workers nationally who have volunteered to return to the frontline of the Covid-19 outbreak.
The councillor for the Abbey ward says she will go wherever she is sent, which could include the temporary 500-bed hospital which is to be built at the National Exhibition Centre.
