82-year-old makes 'miraculous' coronavirus recovery

An 82-year-old has made a ‘miraculous’ recovery from coronavirus - being discharged from hospital after four days.

Sid Lovenbury from Cheadle was sent to the Royal Stoke University Hospital before being discharged on Wednesday (March 25th).

His wife Jean and son Dave thought they wouldn’t be able to say their final goodbyes as Sid was placed on a ward closed to visitors.

Sid - who has vascular dementia and lives in a care home - will now be in quarantine in his room.

Dave admitted he had mentally grieved for his dad after receiving a call from Royal Stoke confirming his dad had coronavirus.

He said:

Both Dave and Jean are not allowed to see Sid for six weeks as he continues his self-isolation.
