Suspected thief claiming to be infected with coronavirus arrested after coughing on people in Dudley

A 57-year-old man in Dudley has been arrested after coughing on staff during a suspected shoplift.

West Midlands Police were called to Dudley High Street after a number of witnesses reported a man coughing on staff who’d suspected him of stealing.

He claimed to have been infected with coronavirus.

The force say the man has suspected mental health issues.

He has been taken into custody and is set to be questioned by officers.
