On International Women's Day: What would you say to your teenage self?
Sunday March 8th 2020 is International Women's Day; a chance to celebrate the achievements of women in all walks of life, and to fight for equality where it doesn't yet exist.
To mark the date, ITV News Central asked a selection of Midlands women, who have all made the headlines for their achievements, to think about what they would say to their younger selves.
And they've shared those messages here.
The BAFTA award winning actress Vicky McClure from Nottingham, said,
Alison Cope's teenage son was stabbed and died from his injuries. She has dedicated her life to stopping young people getting involved with knives.
She tells us,
The Rt Revd Libby Lane was the first female bishop in the Church of England and is currently the Bishop of Derby. Her message is one of defiance,
Elite runner Hayley Carruthers, who trains with the Birchfield Harriers, says we should seize the day,
Natalie Queiroz was stabbed multiple times by her partner while she was eight months pregnant.
Both she and the baby survived, and she's now works as a motivational speaker.
