Five more coronavirus cases confirmed in Midlands

Five more cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in the Midlands.

The first case of Coronavirus in Leicestershire has been confirmed, as a second case in Nottingham is also revealed.

While there are two more cases in Staffordshire, taking the total there to four.

Coventry has also been confirmed as having its first case of the virus.

In Leicestershire, a joint statement from Public Health England East Midlands, and the County Council there told people that the risk to the public remains low and that the two organisations are working together to stop the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, Loughborough University says one of its students has Coronavirus, though it's not known if this is the same case as confirmed by Leicestershire County Council.

The Vice-Chancellor at the university said PHE believed the student picked up the virus during a trip to Italy. They say the person has not been in Loughborough since March 3rd.

While in Nottingham, Public Health England says the second case in the city is a relative of the first person diagnosed with the virus yesterday, who had recently returned from South Korea.

In Coventry, the patient is currently being treated at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.

Today it's been revealed confirmed numbers were that 206 people in the UK have been confirmed with Coronavirus.
