Environment Agency will review decision on Bridgnorth defences
The Environment Agency has told ITV News Central that it will review it's decision not to put flood defences in place in Bridgnorth.
The Shropshire town suffered significant flood damage last week and many people had to evacuate their homes but, unlike other towns along the River Severn, Bridgnorth has no flood defences.
The Environment Agency says the schemes are prioritised according to risk and affordability - but it says it will review the situation when the current floods subside.
A flood warning remains in place in Bridgnorth today (Sunday 1st March). River levels remain high and are expected to rise again at the Bridgnorth river gauge as a result of the weekend rainfall.
