Teenager arrested on suspicion of terror offences in Solihull

A 19-year-old man has been arrested today (Friday 7 February) on suspicion of terrorism offences.

West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit detectives made the arrest and the man is being questioned at a police station in the West Midlands.

He was arrested on suspicion of assisting another person to commit terrorism.

Officers from the unit say the arrest was intelligence-led and there was no risk to the public.

As part of the investigation, a 32-year-old man has been charged with preparing for an act of terrorism and funding terrorism; he is remanded in custody awaiting trial.

A 49-year-old man was charged yesterday with funding terrorism.
