Four members of the Royal Family visit Leicestershire
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will attend several engagements throughout the day - visiting hospitals, businesses, and charities.
The timings of the events are not being disclosed in advance but Charles and Camilla’s first visit will be to the The Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) at Stanford Hall in Nottinghamshire where they will be joined by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
The DNRC is operated by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and it delivers in-patient and residential rehabilitation to serving members of the Armed Forces. It also provides education, research and training in military rehabilitation, hosting both the Academic Department of Military Rehabilitation and the Joint School of Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors.
After the DNRC visit, Price Charles and Camilla will travel on to Leicester to visit the market where they will meet stallholders and members of the Shama Women’s Centre charity.
The Shama Centre was established in 1983 to ‘empower women and girls to become more active educationally, economically and socially through a range of activities that develop their confidence, employability skills, health and well- being’.
It provides a range of activities in a women’s only setting including a domestic abuse programme, bereavement counselling, business workshops and English language support.
Their Royal Highnesses will then attend a performance by children to celebrate the diversity of the city.
They will unveil a commemorative plaque in the new market square to mark it being renamed Green Dragon Square.

Prince Charles will visit the Soane Britain Workshop in Thurmaston, Britain’s last rattan workshop, to view a series of demonstrations from craftsmen and women.
He will tour the workshop and be told about Leicester’s weaving history before unveiling another plaque.
