People across Nottinghamshire urged to check sparklers before use following 'urgent' product recall

With New Year's Eve celebrations around the corner, Nottinghamshire County Council is urging people to check their sparklers before use.

The advice follows a product recall of Klasek Turbo Sparklers (batch number 1801), which were recalled over the bonfire period following reports that they had caused injury to some users.

Those who have these items at home are advised not to use them and should instead return them to the retailer from which they were purchased.

Councillor John Handley, Vice-Chair of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Communities and Place Committee, said: “In November, we asked the public to check sparklers they would be using to celebrate Bonfire Night, and we would like to thank everyone who shared our message."
