Derby family receive hundreds of presents from strangers after losing their mum before Christmas
A family from Mickleover in Derby were inundated with hundreds of Christmas presents from kind strangers after their mum died of cancer a month before Christmas.
32-year-old Katrina Scott died shortly after being told her liver cancer was terminal earlier this year.
Katrina, a care worker, married her long-term partner, Jay Scott, in Royal Derby Hospital on November 14th and died the next day.
Friends of the family appealed for Christmas presents for Katrina's children, aged six upwards, to take the pressure off her husband.
The couple have six children together- Callum, 13, Tyler, 11, Levi, nine, Lillie-Rose, seven, and twins Kaitlin-Rose and Poppy-Mae, six.
Hundreds of people lined the streets for Katrina's funeral in December.
On Christmas day the children's grandad cooked a Christmas dinner for the family.
Jay said he kept back some of the presents to use as rewards throughout the year and for the children's birthdays.
