Banksy mural plastic covering removed after being damaged

A plastic cover that was placed over a Banksy mural after it was defaced - has been removed after it was cracked.

The protective covering was installed by engineers from Network Rail yesterday (December 10) on Vyse Street, in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.

The artwork of reindeer pulling a bench had been defaced by someone who has spray painted red noses on the reindeer - just hours after its unveiling.

In the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) the plastic covering was damaged, leading to Network rail engineers taking the cover down.
