19-year-old arrested after multi-car collision leaves M6 closed for hours

A 19-year-old man has been arrested following a multi-vehicle crash that left the M6 Northbound closed for hours.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junction 5 and 6 for Spaghetti just after 4.30am this morning (1 November).

The 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene.

On arrival they treated two men following the collision and a 25-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Whilst the other man was taken to hospital but his injuries are not suspected to be serious.

The M6 is likely to remain closed until 12pm on Friday (1 November).
