Man arrested after driving himself to failed driving test

A motorist has been arrested after travelling unsupervised to his own driving test - before failing it.

Officers say the man had failed his test for the 10th time before the incident at around 11am on Wednesday (23 October).

He was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent at a test centre in Birdbrook Road, Great Barr.

West Midlands Police tweeted a picture of a white Mitsubishi vehicle the driver had shown up in before officers attended the scene.
