Memorial garden to open for Leicester City owner

A memorial garden is set to open for the former Leicester City owner who died in a helicopter crash.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will be honoured on 27 October with the garden opening on the spot of the accident.

It marks the first anniversary of the crash that claimed the lives of the chairman, staff members Kaveporn Punpare and Nusara Suknamai, and pilots Eric Swaffer and Izabela Lechowicz outside the King Power Stadium.

The club will host a multi-faith ceremony before gates open to the public at 2pm.

The all-season garden including flowers and features of significance to Khun Vichai and the Srivaddhanaprabha family.

All floral tributes left since the accident will be composted and used to support the growth and development of the new planting scheme within the garden.
