Reports of an earthquake felt in Leicestershire

There have been reports of an earthquake in Leicestershire last night.

The British Geological Survey recorded a tremor of 2.4 ML at 19:22 last night (2 October).

It's thought Melton Mowbray, Oakham and the surrounding towns and villages were affected.

The BSG are asking people to get in touch if they felt anything.

People have typically reported that the tremor 'sounded like thunder,' 'thought it was a train passing', 'there was a very deep rumble' and 'the windows rattled.'
