'Critical incident' declared at Queen's Medical Centre as fire causes power loss

The Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham has declared a 'critical incident' after a small fire broke out at the hospital.

It happened this morning (23 August). The fire resulted in a partial power loss.

Nottingham University NHS Trust is asking people not to go to its emergency department over the weekend unless it is absolutely necessary.

Patients are advised to use the Urgent Care Centre in Nottingham's city centre, GP services, local pharmacies or call 111.
