Woman in hospital after being hit by police car

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a police car in Nottingham.

It happened on Derby Road at just after 10.30pm on Thursday 25 July.

The pedestrian was struck by a Nottinghamshire Police car, which was responding to an emergency call at the time.

Derby Road was closed in both directions between its junctions with Lenton Boulevard and Park Street.

The pedestrian has been taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries, the extent of which are not yet known.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area a cordon was put in place to allow police collision investigators to begin their work to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or believes they may have captured the incident on dashcam footage is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police.
