Adam Peaty wins the world 100m breaststroke title for the third time

Uttoxeter swimmer Adam Peaty has won the world 100 metres breaststroke title for the third time with victory in Gwangju, South Korea.

The 24-year-old led home Great Britain team-mate James Wilby in a time of 57.14 seconds, with Yan Zibei of China in third.

At the semi-finals on Sunday, Peaty broke his own world record to become the first man to swim the distance in under 57 seconds. He finished at 56.88 seconds.
