Two arrested on suspicion of murder after man dies following flat fire

Police investigating a flat fire in Derbyshire have arrested two people on suspicion of murder.

A man was rescued from the flat in Lynden Avenue in Long Eaton in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was taken to hospital but he later died of his injuries.

A 54-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. The police and the fire service are asking anyone with CCTV in the area, or who noticed anything suspicious to contact them.
