Teen left fighting for life after knife fight stabbing
A teenager is fighting for his life after being stabbed in a knife fight last night.
The 17-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital following the incident in Belgrave, Leicestershire, yesterday evening.
He was found with serious injuries in Linford Street after police were called to reports of a small number of men with knives fighting just after 6pm.
Police believe the fight started in Thurcaston Road.
Two cars police think may have been involved in the incident – a white Vauxhall Insignia and a black Renault Clio – were seen being driven dangerously along Loughborough Road and Belgrave Road after the fight took place.
A short time later the Insignia was reported abandoned in Heybridge Road and has since been recovered by police.
Officers are working to find out what happened and say that the people involved may have known each other based on initial investigations.
Leicestershire Police's Detective Inspector Mark Parish said:
A cordon remains in place in Linford Street while officers continues to examine the scene.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to call 101, quoting incident 534 of 6 June.
