Murder charge over man found dead in flat in Leicester

A 52-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man from Leicester.

Constantine Papathanasiou, 51, was found dead at a flat on St Peters Road near the junction of Highfield Road just after 5pm on Friday 17 May. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ricky Simon, of Mere Road, Leicester, has been remanded in custody.

A murder investigation was launched following initial enquiries and the completion of a post-mortem examination.

Simon will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (25 May).
