Man shot dead in Birmingham named as Dante Mullings

A 23-year-old man who was shot dead in Birmingham has been named as Dante Mullings.

He was found with fatal injuries in St Vincent Road West in Ladywood just after 5pm on Tuesday 7 May.

It's believed that the 23-year-old and two other men were in a silver Vauxhall Corsa when shots were fired from an oncoming car.

The three men managed to exit the car and attempted to flee a short distance down the road, but Dante collapsed as a result of his injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem examination revealed that he died of a gun shot wound.

His family has paid tribute to him.

A 19-year-old man remains in hospital with injures that are not believed to be life-changing. A 20-year-old man who was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

The murder investigation is still ongoing to establish the circumstances leading to Dante’s death.
