Knife Angel sculpture arrives in Birmingham
The haunting Knife Angel sculpture has arrived in Birmingham.
The 27ft sculpture is made out of 100,000 knives that have been confiscated from police forces across the country - many have been used as weapons in crimes.
It's a national monument against violence and knife crime, which is touring the UK, being installed at a different location for weeks at a time.
It will stand in Victoria Square until 5th June.
The arrival of the Knife Angel comes as figures reveal knife crime is at the highest level across the country.
Knife crime has increased 17% year on year between 2017 and 2018 in the West Midlands.
It was commissioned by the British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry and created by artist Alfie Bradley.
It has visited Liverpool, Hull and Coventry, and will continue its tour of the UK throughout 2019.
