West Midlands Ambulance Service: 5000 hoax calls are putting lives at risk
West Midlands Ambulance Service says lives are being put at risk, because of hoax calls.
In the last five years, the service has dealt with 5,500 malicious hoax calls, where people falsely claim there's a real emergency, when there isn't.
Bosses say the problem can get worse over Bank Holidays, and parents have been asked to explain to their children that these calls put people's lives at risk.
Yasmin Bodalbhai went to West Midland's Ambulance Service operation centre to speak to the team first-hand about it.
