Shoes of school girl who died on the road on display at cathedral
Fifty-six pairs of shoe shave been placed on display at Lincoln Cathedral in memory of those who lost their lives on the roads.
Amongst them is the smallest pair which belongs to school girl Amelia Wood - who died last year in March when she was just 11-years-old.
She was struck by a loose wheel from a passing car when she was on her way to school.
Amelia had been given the all clear after a three year battle with Leukemia.
Her mother, Hayley, has placed a photograph of Amelia on her pair of shoes. She says it's so people can see the impact that their behaviour behind the wheel can have on people's lives.
The team behind the tribute say they're hoping that people will begin to see 'the people who have been killed not just as a statistic - or a number, but as real people whoLincolnshire has lost'.
Hayley hopes the display will educate drivers and spare other families the heartbreak of losing a loved one to Lincolnshire's roads.
