Haunting image of cross in Notre Dame reminiscent of Coventry Cathedral in the Blitz
Coventry Cathedral has said that the haunting image of a cross still shining brightly in a smouldering Notre-Dame Cathedral is reminiscent of the charred cross, found in the ruins of the city Cathedral on 15th November 1940 after it was destroyed during a German bombing raid.
The Cathedral tweeted that it's a symbol of grave destruction, but also one of hope.
Coventry Cathedral has said it will hold today's Evening Prayer at the Cathedral ruins in light of the fire in Notre Dame. They say the service will take place at 5pm and everyone is welcome.
