Driver stuck in traffic after crash finds out his girlfriend had been killed in the accident

A driver who was stuck in a huge traffic jam on the M5 after a fatal crash has spoken of his loss after he was told the victim was his girlfriend.

Cristian Miculaiciuc was among thousands of motorists caught in queues after the crash earlier this month.

After an hour of sitting in the jam, Mr Miculaiciuc received a call from police. It emerged his partner, 24-year-old Sorina Gheorghe, who was in a different vehicle, had died.

West Mercia Police are appealing for information.
