Bennetts Ashbourne department store to close its doors for the final time
It's the last day of trading at Bennetts department store in Ashbourne.
Joint administrators Bridgewood has confirmed the sale of the Derby store, but the Ashbourne store was not included in the agreement.
A closing down sale has been held at the Ashbourne store over the past couple of weeks, with even fixtures and fittings being sold off.
Bennetts is believed to be the oldest department store in the world, dating back to 1734.
But administrators were appointed in February, after struggling with competition from online, weaker consumer confidence and rising costs.
The store is expected to close at 4.00pm today.
