Heavy rain and strong winds are battering the region as Storm Gareth sweeps across the country.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind for the East and West Midlands, with gusts of up to 60mph expected today.

Storm Gareth was officially named by Met Eireann last night (Mon), and is expected to last until tomorrow afternoon.

A yellow weather warning for wind is in place from midday until three o'clock on Wednesday. It will affect large parts of the UK, including both the East and West Midlands.

The Met Office is predicting gusts of up to 60mph and around 50mm of rain. It has also warned that the stormy weather could cause some travel disruption.
