78-year-old man hit in the face and threatened with knife during burglary
This image shows the extent of a pensioner's injuries after two men forced their way into his house and attacked him.
Police in Nottinghamshire have released the image as part of their inquiry into the aggravated burglary in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, on 12 February.
At around 8pm two men forced their way into the house in the Windsor Street area and threatened the 78-year-old with a knife, before ransacking the house and taking cash and a bank card.
The man was also hit in the face and lost consciousness.
He wasn’t found until the next day, when his older sister visited him, and is still receiving medical treatment, although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering.
