Des Coleman returns to present the weather today after spending several months recovering from a serious illness.

He collapsed and was rushed to hospital by ambulance last November.

He was diagnosed with a gastric tumour, spent time in intensive care and had emergency surgery.

He now has an eight inch scar on his stomach.

Here he is showing off his scar to one of the medical team who cared for him.

Des has been back to Queen's Hospital in Burton to thank all the staff involved in his treatment.

Des got a chance to meet them all again now he's better.
