6 sheep rescued from the railway embankment near Sutton Coldfield

Six sheep were rescued from the railway tracks near Sutton Coldfield last night (19 January) by workers from West Midlands Fire Service and Network Rail.

The incident is thought to have caused delays of more than an hour and affected some fans travelling home from Aston Villa's game against Hull City.

Pete Drummond, who works for the West Midlands Fire Service, tweeted that all six animals had been returned to their owner for 'some TLC'.
