Charity begin collecting Christmas trees in Birmingham in return for donations
A campaign begins today (12 January) to collect Christmas trees across Birmingham in exchange for donations.
St Mary's Hospice, which is celebrating 40 years of care this year, is collecting the trees from doorsteps across the city.
The 'Treecycling' campaign involves more than 150 volunteers collecting over 3,500 used Christmas trees.
Now in its eighth year, the campaign has raised more than £130,000 for the hospice.
The hospice, which costs around £22,000 a year to run, says the money raised through the donations are key to keeping services going.
