Chihuahua back home after CCTV captures moment he was taken
A Chihuahua is now back home with his owners after CCTV footage went viral showing a man taking him outside a hairdressers.
The owners are offered £1000 to anyone who could help them find their pet.
CCTV footage showed the moment a man picked up and walked away with the pet named Rupert from the its owners hair salon in Abington Street, Northampton.
Owner, Katie Lane, 30, said: "I came back (to the salon) from the train station and Rupert was gone.
"He's a very timid dog, he's in the salon everyday and everyone in Northampton knows him."
The footage was recorded at 6.24pm yesterday, (3rd January).
The owners say they left Rupert inside the salon but he somehow escaped.
Katie said witnesses heard the man telling passers by "that's my dog" before driving away in a white van.
The dog was handed into to Northamptonshire Police by two children who say he was given to them by a man in the street.
