Eight-year-old girl and woman, 33, die following house fire

• An eight-year-old girl and a woman aged 33 have died following a house fire in Nottinghamshire.

The fire service were called to the house in Woodhill Road, Collingham, at around 7am this morning.

A five-year-old boy and 34-year-old man are in hospital with serious injuries, while a 53-year-old woman was also rescued.

They're all believed to be from the same family.

Area Chief Constable Rich Stapleford said the tragedy would hit the village hard.

A joint fire and police investigation is taking place to establish a cause.
