Who's spending the most on Christmas presents?

With just weeks to go until Christmas read on to find out how the Midlands ranks on the festive spending league table.

The East Midlands seems to be spending the least in the UK when it comes to Christmas spending. That's according to a recent survey by financial services company, Hargreaves Lansdown.

Their survey found that on average people in the East Midlands spent £264 on presents.

People in the West Midlands fared better in the survey spending £308 on presents.

The survey also shows that more than half of us will overspend this Christmas. Women and men in the region differ with their spending habits.

Women are more likely to splash the cash spending on average £62 more than men. However, men are more likely to bust the budget and dip into savings or their overdraft.
